By creating an account on Yumio, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the platform. Continued use of Yumio after any updates to these terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised version.
You must be at least 18 years of age to register and use Yumio. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement. Access to the Spirits & Drinks section is restricted to users who are not of legal drinking age under Kenyan law. Yumio reserves the right to suspend any account where age eligibility cannot be confirmed.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Any activity that occurs under your account is your responsibility. Creating multiple accounts to exploit the platform, abuse promotions, or circumvent suspensions will result in a permanent ban and forfeiture of any wallet balance. Yumio reserves the right to terminate any account at its sole discretion.
A verified email address is required to place orders on Yumio. Upon registration, a verification link will be sent to your email. You must verify your email before you can checkout. Verification links expire after 24 hours. You may request a new link from your account settings.
All payments are processed exclusively through M-Pesa. The order flow is as follows: you place an order, the vendor reviews and accepts it, an M-Pesa STK Push prompt is then sent to your registered phone number, and your order enters preparation only after payment is confirmed. Once a vendor has accepted your order, it cannot be cancelled. Yumio collects all payments on behalf of vendors and couriers and distributes earnings upon successful delivery.
Refunds are issued automatically via M-Pesa in the following circumstances: a vendor declines your order before payment is made (no charge applies), an order expires because the vendor did not respond within 30 minutes after payment, or a vendor cancels an already-paid order. Refunds are processed within 24 hours to your M-Pesa number. Disputes regarding delivered orders must be raised within 15 minutes of delivery via the Orders page. Yumio does not guarantee refunds for disputes raised outside this window.
Vendors are responsible for the accuracy, quality, and safety of all items listed on their menu. By accepting an order, a vendor commits to fulfilling it within a reasonable timeframe. Vendors must respond to incoming orders promptly — orders left unaccepted for 30 minutes are automatically cancelled. Yumio deducts a 10% platform commission on all food sales. Remaining earnings are credited to the vendor's Yumio wallet upon successful delivery.
Vendors may request a withdrawal of their wallet balance at any time. Payouts are processed in two daily windows — submit your request by 12:00 PM to receive payment by 3:00 PM, or submit by 6:00 PM to receive by 9:00 PM. Trusted vendors with 40 or more completed orders and no active disputes qualify for automatic payouts after each delivery. Payout requests are sent to the M-Pesa number registered on your account.
Couriers (runners) are independent contractors and not employees of Yumio. Couriers are responsible for collecting orders from vendors using a secure 4-digit pickup PIN and delivering them to the correct student. Tampering with orders, collecting an order without the correct PIN, or misrepresenting delivery status will result in immediate account termination. Couriers earn the full delivery fee per completed order, credited to their Yumio wallet upon delivery confirmation.
Courier applications are subject to admin review. Applicants must submit a valid student ID and a photo of their bicycle. Approval is not guaranteed. Yumio limits the number of active couriers on the platform at any given time to maintain earning potential and delivery quality. Approved couriers who violate platform conduct may be suspended or permanently removed.
The Yumio Spirits section is strictly for users aged 18 and above. By accessing this section, you confirm your age and accept full legal responsibility for your purchase. Yumio does not take responsibility for the misuse of alcohol purchased through the platform. Vendors on the Spirits section are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable liquor licensing laws.
The following are strictly prohibited on Yumio: manipulating item prices or delivery fees, placing orders from your own vendor account, creating fake disputes, attempting to claim orders without a valid pickup PIN, exploiting platform bugs for financial gain, harassing other users, vendors, or couriers, and any attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with platform security. Violations will result in immediate account suspension and potential legal action.
Yumio collects your name, email address, phone number, and delivery details solely to facilitate the service. Your M-Pesa number is used exclusively for payment processing and payouts. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Order history is retained for dispute resolution and platform improvement purposes.
Yumio does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the platform. We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue the service at any time for maintenance, security, or operational reasons. Yumio is not liable for any loss arising from temporary unavailability of the platform.
Yumio reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
